A test of technology

I am speaking to you from Vermont, where it is gray and November-like. It has warmed up quite a bit over the last few days so the sugaring has stopped and the snow has pretty much melted and is pouring down the rivers.
I work next to the Winooski River and it has been raging -- and rising -- all day. It's up about two feet from this morning. But it's nothing like 1927 ....

Geoffrey Gevalt  founded and directs the Young Writers Project, a VT nonprofit working to build a generation of better writers. Lee McIsaac directs YWP's mentoring and publication programs.Kate Fallone is a longtime UVM mentor and YWP instructor.
